Bryce Cole
Born in Palmerston North, I was fortunate to grow up surrounded by the beauty of New Zealand’s diverse landscapes—regular visits to the beach, bush, and lakes sparked my love for nature and the outdoors. These experiences instilled in me a deep appreciation for the natural world, which I’ve carried with me throughout my life.

Photography has been a part of my life from an early age, with my parents documenting our childhood memories using an old Zeiss Ikon film camera that produced stunning images. Inspired by this, I began using the camera in my teens and later purchased my first SLR—a Praktica—at 16. My passion for black-and-white photography grew quickly, and I even built my own darkroom in the backyard to develop my prints.

Now based in Tauranga, in the heart of the beautiful Bay of Plenty, I have a wealth of natural beauty right on my doorstep, offering endless inspiration for my photography. As a self-taught photographer, I’m always experimenting with new techniques and pushing myself to learn and grow. While I would love to turn my photography into my primary career, I currently work full-time as the CEO of a large commercial bakery, but my love for photography remains at the forefront of my personal life.
I truly hope you enjoy these photos as much as I’ve enjoyed capturing them. The journey is ever-evolving, and I look forward to sharing new work with you from time to time.
